The Oxford Think Tank

The most important audience at The Water’s Edge Museum are school children, who will benefit from a museum that embraces history, culture, art, social and environmental justice, and the rich diversity in Maryland.

The museum is fully accessible to all visitors and is situated within The Oxford Think Tank, a Gold LEED facility.

The complex harvests over 10,000 gallons of water, hosts a large solar array and geothermal system and is comprised of Maryland reclaimed materials, including the original flooring from the Read’s Drug Store in Baltimore–the site of one of America’s first successful student-led sit-ins as early as 1955. Courageous students from Morgan State University once sat on our floor 70 years ago in an act of solidarity against systemic racism.

The Water’s Edge Museum is located at 101 Mill Street, Oxford, MD 21654
