NORTH WALL

THE DAILY LIFE OF PEOPLE OF COLOR ON MARYLAND’S EASTERN SHORE

In his first visit to the Water’s Edge, Maryland Secretary of State, John Wobensmith pointed out that the Maryland seal features a farmer and waterman standing as anchors to the Great Seal of Maryland–and noted how the lives of people of color featured in this gallery represent among the most accomplished in these essential professions.

Further to that, the museum looks at the daily life practices of persons of color–how they interacted with their society, with their families, and most importantly, with their church.
