The first-ever Water’s Edge Arts Contest is here!

The Water’s Edge Museum proudly presents a collection of dignified oil portraits and various works in visual arts, literature, and music, that celebrate the dignity and contributions of America’s early Black communities. The museum sheds light on the complex stories of the Founding Black Families, honoring their resilience and achievements while addressing the historical neglect of their contributions. The Water’s Edge empowers contemporary audiences to embrace a more accurate portrayal of America’s past and actively engage in addressing inequality.

The Water’s Edge Museum invites all K-12 students to help us celebrate the Founding Black Families of America!
