Always struggling to make her message more consistent with the vision of the Copperville community, the artist reworked her color lithograph in the form of a black-and-white lithograph and eventually an oil painting. This constant editing of work was not unusual as it was important to the community that their views be expressed in accordance with their unique place in history and spiritual beliefs that endowed them with the power to rise.
